LAHORE: Chairman Punjab Information Technology Board Omer Saif said free public wifi facility will be provided in Lahore soon while all the arrangements have been finalized in this regard.
As per details, PITB Chairman Omer Saif said on his social media page that government decided to provide free wifi services to the citizens of Lahore and the free wifi services would be available within few months.
He added that services of free wifi would be available at specific places while this service would also be expanded to other cities including Multan and Rawalpindi.
PITB officials stated that all the arrangements have been finalized by government to provide free wifi service while service would be available at 115 places in Lahore which includes 12 parks, 17 markets, metro bus stations, 20 colleges and universities, railway stations and airport.
The purpose of this project is to bring people close to each other and stay connected while an agreement has also been finalized between PITB and PTA in this regard.
It is also worthy to mention here that Sindh government also signed agreements with the Chinese companies, America and Dubai to provide facilities of solar street lights, CCTV Cameras and free wifi service under Karachi Smart City Project.
