Former national team captain and coach Inzamam-ul-Haq discussed hisexperience of the first edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) whiletalking in the sports program ‘The Pavilion.’ He mentioned that in the 2007IPL, Zaheer Khan and Praveen Kumar were part of their team, and theircoaches knew that both bowlers had a unique swing in their deliveries,which became their strength.
Inzamam-ul-Haq stated that both bowlers used to work on their swing dailywith the coaches, focusing on how to maintain the right position and theproper action. They practiced it consistently.
He added that conditions in India are favorable, pitches are good, and thebatsmen score well. If your new ball swing isn’t effective, you won’t beable to achieve anything there.
The former captain said that if you watch YouTube or research fast bowlinganywhere today, you’ll find that most videos focus on the perspective ofIndian bowling coaches.
