The government has formally offered to investigate the rigging charges inthe general elections 2018 by forming a judicial commission.
According to Dunya News sources, the government has decided that theelection 2018 can be investigated through a Judicial Commission or aParliamentary Committee. The proposal was presented to the Maulana FazlurRehman through Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.
Earlier, the government earlier proposed the opposition that a judicialcommission could be formed to investigate the charges of rigging in theelections.

“We reject the proposal to set up a commission and are firm on our demandfor re-election,” said Fazlur Rehman.
When the opposition rejected the commission’s offer, the government thenoffered either revival of the parliamentary committee on election riggingor even formation of a new committee.
