RAWALPINDI: A top official of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO)on Thursday met with the Pakistan Army chief and lauded the military’s rolein regional peace, the military’s media wing said in a statement.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), thedirector-general of the NATO’s International Military Staff (IMS),Lieutenant General Hans-Werner Wiermann, visited the General Headquartersin Rawalpindi where he met Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General QamarJaved Bajwa.
DGIMS Lt Gen Wiermann and COAS Gen Bajwa talked about matters of mutualinterest, as well as regional security.
The DGIMS lauded the Pakistan Army’s key role in the peace and stabilitysituation of South Asia, the ISPR noted.
