LAHORE – Usman Buzdar, Chief Minister of Punjab has approved a motorbikeambulance service for all districts of Punjab.
The decision was made during the 20th meeting of Punjab Emergency Council,along with the approval to procure new ambulances.
The provincial government will also give special monetary incentives topersonnel undergoing emergency service training.
The CM also ordered the launch of Rescue 1122 at the tehsil level. Themeeting deliberated on matters concerning the rescuers, including plans toprovide monetary aid and insurance for rescuers who died during service. Inthis regard, a special committee under the law minister Raja Basharat willsubmit final recommendations for financial and regulatory approvals.
Buzdar said that new standard operating procedures should be devised forthe purchase of new equipment and ambulances for rescue services in theprovince. This is to eliminate unnecessary delays in the procurement of newequipment.
The minister added that the safety code for the construction of high-risebuildings should be strictly followed and a new system for safelytransferring patients to hospitals should be implemented.
