ISLAMABAD – Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG)Major General Asif Ghafoor Wednesday said Pakistan Army was engaged indefence matters of the country and had no role in Jamiat-Ulama-e-Islam-Fazl(JUI-F) sit-in.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl ur Rehman was a senior politician and he lovedPakistan very much and its sit in was a political activity, he said talkingto a private news channel.
About Kartarpur Corridor, the spokesman of Pakistan Army said this was aone way corridor as Sikh Yatree coming from India would be bound within theboundary of Kartarpur corridor, adding after performing religious rituals,they would return to India from the same route.
In reply to a question, he said no compromise would be made on the securityand sovereignty of the country.
We should respect the religious places of Sikh community and avoidpoliticizing opening of the corridor, he said.
The Jawans of Pakistan Armed forces had been sacrificing their preciouslives and fighting the case of Kashmir for the last 70 years, at the lineof control (LoC).He made it clear that the government, Kashmiri people and the Pakistan Armywould never compromise on the Kashmir issue.
To a question about involvement of Army in the elections, he said Pakistanarmy was called on the requisition of the government for security purpose.The ISPR DG said Army was an impartial institution and it performed itsduty within the domain of the Constitution.
