ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan says the government wants asustainable solution to poverty reduction by creating employmentopportunities and bringing reforms in various sectors. He was chairing ameeting on poverty reduction and related reforms in Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister said the local government system needs to be utilized atthe grassroots level to reduce poverty, so that needy people are promptlyreached and resources are not wasted.

The Prime Minister said immediate steps are needed to be taken to resolvethe issue of stunted growth which deprives our children of equaldevelopment opportunities.

Imran Khan directed to create harmony among health, education, food,environment and other sectors in order to find a solution to this issue ofserious magnitude. The meeting was briefed on steps relating to povertyreduction and reforms in this regard.

The Prime Minister was also given a detailed briefing on promotion oftechnical education, increase in employment opportunities, access tofinancial assistance, inexpensive accommodation, social protection andSehat Insaf Card.
