*ISLAMABAD – Prime Minster Imran Khan has called for opening channels ofhumanitarian assistance for the people suffering from famine in Yemen.*
“The conflict in Yemen affects the regional peace and stability and nomilitary solution can resolve it,” he said during his meeting withAmbassador of Yemen to Pakistan Mohammed Motahar Alashabi, who called onhim in Islamabad.
Imran Khan has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to play its role inbringing all the parties on the negotiating table for a politicalsettlement of the Yemen conflict.
He assured the ambassador of unwavering support of Pakistan for an earlyresolution of the conflict, in light of UN Security Council Resolution 2216and restoration of the legitimate government of President Abdurabuh MansourHadi in Yemen.
The PM also called for more concerted and coordinated efforts at the globallevel to alleviate the sufferings of Yemeni people and to ensure their safereturn to their homes.
