SRINAGAR – Near one million Indian Military troops in Occupied Kashmir fear200 – 300 armed fighters, if Indian media report is to be believed.
Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Police chief Dilbag Singh on Sunday said 200 to300 militants are active in the state and Pakistan has intensifiedcross-border firing.
It revealed the entire lockdown of the Indian Military troops is to fightthese 300 fighters which are still untraceable in the valley.
He said these militants had managed to sneak into the state from across theborder recently even as the counter-infiltration grid scuttled variousattempts by eliminating infiltrators.
“The number of active militants (in Jammu and Kashmir) is between 200 to300… the figure usually does not remain static and goes up and down,”Singh told reporters during a visit to the border district of Poonch toreview the security situation, PTI has reported.

The director general of police (DGP) said Pakistan has intensifiedceasefire violations.
“A large number of ceasefire violations are taking place in both Kashmirand Jammu regions. It is going on in Kanachak, R S Pura and Hira Nagar(along the International Border) and quite frequently along the LoC inPoonch, Rajouri, Uri, Nambla, Karnah and Keran,” Singh said.
