ISLAMABAD – A high level delegation of the Financial Action Task Force(FATF) is arriving in Pakistan for a crucial visit to Pakistan.
The FATF delegation would be discussing the critical issue of greylistinclusion of Pakistan.
FATF delegation and the government are scheduled to begin today in thefederal capital.
During its visit from October 7-9, the FATF delegation will meet officialsof the ministries of finance and interior, the financial monitoring unit,and the state bank .
The administrative and legal measures taken by Pakistan to stop themonetary assistance of terrorists will also be reviewed by the foreignteam, sources said.
In this regard, a working paper has also been drafted by the Securities andExchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) pertaining to money laundering andterror financing which incorporates recommendations for measures inidentifying domestic and foreign transactions.
As Pakistan is currently under the grey-list, the FATF delegation will alsoput forward recommendations whether to take Pakistan off the grey-list orto add it to the black list.
