Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar has suggested that theforthcoming general elections might take place earlier than initiallyanticipated. This prospect arises from the fact that the country’s primaryelectoral authority is set to conclude the delimitation of constituenciesby November 30.
During an interview on Aaj News’ show Faisla Aap Ka, Kakar alluded to thepossibility of holding elections before January or February. He emphasizedthat should the Supreme Court of Pakistan issue a directive for electionswithin a 90-day timeframe, it would be dutifully followed.
When questioned by the interviewer, Asma Shirazi, the interim premierelaborated on the decisions made under the Special Investment FacilitationCouncil (SIFC), expressing confidence that these measures would beginyielding tangible results by the conclusion of December.
Addressing the events of May 9, Kakar clarified that the interimgovernment’s stance was not aimed at any particular political party butrather directed at those responsible for the destruction of militaryinstallations. He underscored the importance of negotiation for India,highlighting its larger size compared to Pakistan and emphasizing that itshould consider negotiations as a necessity.
