LAHORE – European Union Special Representative for human rights EamonGilmore expressed serious concerns over human rights violations in occupiedKashmir.
She said he was closely monitoring the situation in the region.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday called European Union (EU)Special Representative for Human Rights Eamon Gilmore and apprised himabout the serious human rights abuses in the occupied Kashmir.
FM Qureshi expressed that Pakistan views its relations with the EU in highregards. “The people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been facing theworst curfew in the history of valley ever since August 5. India’sunilateral and unconstitutional measures are a violation of internationallaw and the United Nations (UN) resolutions”, he added.
He went on to say that the lives of the Kashmiris have been completelyparalyzed with no medicines and food as a result of continuous curfew inthe valley. “International media and global human rights organizations arelooking at a new human tragedy in the occupied valley,” he added.
