The government is all set to waive off Rs40.2 million visa fees of 2,511Chinese nationals working on development projects under the China-PakistanEconomic Corridor (CPEC) in Pakistan.

The waiver would be a one-time dispensation to Chinese nationals to changetheir visit visas into work visas in Pakistan free of charge.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had given a go-ahead to table the matter in theupcoming meeting of the federal cabinet for approval.

The cabinet had considered a summary submitted by the Interior Division onMay 16, 2019 and granted approval in principle as a one-time dispensationto Chinese nationals to change their visit visas into work visas.
