Indian ISRO Chief K Sivan bursts in tears over failed moon mission landing, PM Modi responds

NEW DELHI – Indian Space Research Organisation Chief K Sivan breaks down intears over failed moon mission landing by the Indian spacecraft.

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) chairman K Sivan broke down afterPrime Minister Narendra Modi’s address to scientists over Chandrayaan-2. Asthe Prime Minister was leaving the ISRO centre in Bengaluru after hisaddress, Sivan had an emotional outburst while greeting him.

Prime Minister Modi hugged Sivan and tried to console him. Patting Sivan’sback, the Prime Minister consoled a teary-eyed ISRO chief before leavingthe venue. The Prime Minister could also be seen getting emotional whiletrying to pacify Sivan.

Prior to this, Prime Minister Modi addressed the scientists at the ISROcentre in Bengaluru, encouraging them for the road ahead and asserting thatall was not lost yet.

Referring to the loss of contact with Chandrayaan-2’s Vikram Lander, thePrime Minister said that “there will be a new dawn and a brighter tomorrowvery soon”. He said, “We don’t have to look back, we need to take lessonsand move ahead till the objective of the mission is fulfilled.”
