ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan’s appeal to the nation and theoverseas Pakitanis starts to get massive response.
Just within hours of his appeal, massive amount of donation has started topour in.
Big donations poured into the dams fund after Prime Minister Imran Khanaddressed the nation on Friday.
In his video message, PM Khan had requested the overseas Pakistanis to makecontributions in the dams fund which would help avert the water crisis.
Just hours after the appeal, ARY Digital Network CEO and Karachi Kingsowner Salman Iqbal made a donation of USD 100,000 in the dams fund.
He tweeted, “After the initiation of CJ and the PM’s appeal to Pakistanisto extend support to the govt for building dams. ARY announced acontribution of $100,000 to the fund. I request all Pakistanis to comeforward! We have to help our country as we owe everything to ourmotherland!”
Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz Hussain also made his contribution in thedams fund. He donated Rs 5 crore in the fund after the premier’s appeal.“Each one of us can make a difference. United we stand for #Pakistan#DonateForDams #PakistanZindabad,” he said on Twitter.
Overseas Pakistani community has also announced to donate big amount forthe said purpose.
The dams fund, initiated by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar and endorsed by PMKhan, has nearly reached the Rs 2 billion mark.
