ISLAMABAD: United States spy Mathew Barret was arrested yesterday in Islamabad by Law Enforcement Agencies for illegally entering in Pakistan.
Interior minister took notice of the incident and has ordered an inquiry into the matter for finding facts of the matter.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Sunday chaired a meeting in Islamabad to review the matter of blacklisted American national Mathew Barrett’s entry into Pakistan.
He was in the past alleged of spying about the details of nuclear programme of Pakistan, ARY News reported.
The meeting was attended by senior officials of the interior ministry, police and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The federal minister had on Saturday suspended staff of immigration shift including a Federal Investigation Agency’s Assistant Director employed on the airport for granting immigration permission to the black-listed American citizen and issuing visa of Pakistan to him.
