KABUL – One U.S. service member was killed and two others wounded in anapparent insider attack in southern Afghanistan, the NATO-led ResoluteSupport mission said on Saturday.

The statement said the two wounded were in a stable condition and theincident was being investigated, but it gave no further details, saying thename of the service member killed would be withheld until next of kin werenotified.

The attacks come at a time when the rumours of peace talks betweenAfghanistan government and Afghanistan Taliban are ripe in Afghanistan.
