ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz lawmaker Rana Sanaullah said onMonday that announcement of Shehbaz Sharif stepping down as Chairman ofPublic Accounts Committee was just a suggestion from the parliamentaryparty and will be discussed with the party leadership and other oppositionparties.
Speaking on the floor of the National Assembly, Rana Sana said ShehbazSharif’s decision to leave chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committeewas not final.
Sana’s comments came after Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi criticisedShehbaz Sharif’s decision to nominate Rana Tanveer as his successor,calling it contrary to democratic norms.
Rana Sanaullah, in his response, questioned whether the resignation wasreceived by Speaker Secretariat adding that the foreign minister wasspeaking on the matter on the basis of what he heard.
