UAE gives Rs 22 billion under Pak – UAE assistance programme

ISLAMABAD – The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Pakistan have signed aUS$200 million cooperation agreement to execute Phase III of the UAEPakistan Assistance Programme (UAE PAP).

The funds will be invested in provinces including Balochistan and KhyberPakhtunkhwa. It will also include 40 projects covering roads, health,education, water and agriculture.

The move was ordered by President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan andSheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and DeputySupreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces to provide humanitarian aid toPakistan.

The funds will provide humanitarian assistance and support the country’sdevelopment for a better future.

The agreement was signed in Islamabad by Abdullah Khalifa Al Ghafli, PAPdirector, and Commandant MCE Major General Anwar Ul Haq Chaudhry of thePakistani Army,
