Twin blasts in Afghanistan, casualties reported

KABUL – The public relations office of the provincial government ofNangarhar announced that three people were killed and 19 injured in twoexplosions that took place in District Four of Jalalabad, the provincialcapital, on Saturday.

According to the office’s statement, the two consecutive explosions tookplace at 10:00 local time, in which three people were killed, two of whomare a 22- and a 40-year old woman.

The statement added that four women and two children are seen among the 19people that were injured. Two of the injured people are in criticalconditions.

The explosions were caused by two roadside bombs and no groups have claimedthe responsibility for the explosions, added the statement.
