LONDON: Interpol responds over Pakistan Red Warrants request againstHussain Nawaz.
The Interpol has refused to issue red warrants for the arrest andextradition of Hussain Nawaz Sharif on the application of Pakistanigovernment, dealing a big blow to the international efforts made by thecurrent government against the family of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.
This correspondent has seen official papers, which confirm that thedecision to reject the application against Hussain Nawaz was made by theInterpol’s commission, comprised of five members and headed by itschairperson, during its 10th session.
Papers show that Pakistani authorities made robust representations to theinternational body, relying on the recent court decision against NawazSharif, Maryam Nawaz and Captain (retd) Safdar, but it failed to convincethe Interpol for the issuance of red warrants against the oldest son of theformer prime minister.
Pakistan made representations through the Interpol’s National CentralBureau (NCB) in Islamabad.
