*ISLAMABAD – Pakistan former captain Misbah ul Haq has expressed concernover the side’s recent performance in the Test format, especially thenational team dismal show at its adopted home, the UAE.*
“It is definitely an area of concern for anyone who is interested inPakistan cricket. When we play away from home, we can always say that it’stough playing in places such as South Africa where Asian teams struggle dueto the conditions.
“However, the biggest concern is that we have been losing Tests in the UAEwhich is our home. We really need to put some efforts to get to the bottomof this issue and find out what problems we have which are causing us tolose at home,” said Misbah, quoted *PakPassion*.
Misbah, who boost the record of being the country’s most successful Testcaptain also pointed out on the dearth of quality spinners and batsmen thatcan play spin well, which the former captain blamed on domestic cricketbeing played on seaming tracks.
“Given the nature of the pitches, the spinners are not getting enough timeto bowl and similarly, the batsmen are getting lesser time to facespinners. With this background, our batsmen and spinners run into problemsin the UAE as they don’t seem to have practice in this aspect of ourcricket,” he added.
