*WASHINGTON: *Adult film star Stormy Daniels has filed a lawsuit against USPresident Donald Trump. The actress, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims that she is notbound by non-disclosure restrictions.
The lawsuit alleges that she had an “intimate relationship” with DonaldTrump between 2006-07 but that she was approached by Trump’s lawyer duringthe 2016 presidential race amid the controversy generated by the AccessHollywood Tape.
Several women publicly accused Trump of sexual harassment soon afterwards.
The lawsuit, filed in the State of California, states that a $130,000 weresent to her attorney’s trust account by Michael Cohen even though there hadbeen no ”hush agreement”.Donald Trump “purposely did not sign the agreement so he could later, ifneed be, publicly disavow any knowledge” of Stephanie Clifford, said herattorney on Wednesday.
“Despite Mr Trump’s failure to sign the hush agreement, Mr Cohen proceededto cause $130,000.00 to be wired to the trust account of Ms Clifford’sattorney. He did so even though there was no legal agreement and thus nowritten nondisclosure agreement whereby Ms Clifford was restricted fromdisclosing the truth about Mr Trump,” read the lawsuit.
Trump’s personal lawyer has repeatedly tried to silence the adult star, alleged her attorney.“To be clear, the attempts to intimidate Ms Clifford into silence and ‘shuther up’ in order to ‘protect Mr Trump’ continue unabated,” states thelawsuit.“For example, only days ago on or about February 27, 2018, Mr Trump’sattorney Mr Cohen surreptitiously initiated a bogus arbitration proceedingagainst Ms Clifford in Los Angeles. Remarkably, he did so without evenproviding Ms Clifford with notice of the proceeding and basic due process,”the document added.
Michael Cohen has admitted that he wired funds but denies any link to theTrump campaign.“Neither the Trump Organisation nor the Trump campaign was a party to thetransaction with Ms Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly, ” he said.
He added that Donald Trump “Vehemently denies” any involvement withStephanie Clifford. Agencies
