LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) has given a big relief to JuD ChiefHafiz Saeed as he had apprehensions of being arrested by the authorities.

LHC today ordered Federal and Punjab government to not arrest or putJamaat-ud-Dawa Chief Hafiz Saeed under house arrest until further notice.

Hafiz Saeed had pleaded to the court against his possible arrest. In theplea he argued that the government is under pressure from the United Statesand India and wants to arrest him.

Justice Amin-ud-din Khan heard the petition. Law officers representingfederal and provincial governments pleaded the court for more time tosubmit replies. Justice allowed their plea and put off further proceedingsuntil April 04.
