For the first time in history, Pakistan government to take important decision over NAB, FIA jurisdiction in AJK

ISLAMABAD: The federal government is planning to extend jurisdiction ofNational Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA)to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) soon.

“We are planning to extend NAB and FIA jurisdiction to AJK,” officialsources in Ministry of Kashmir Affairs Thursday said.

To a question, the sources said in a bid to promote domestic andinternational tourism in the country, the ministry has hired services ofthree international companies to identify new tourism sites in the regionof Gilgit- Baltistan.

The Gilgit-Baltistan has great potential in the tourism sector and thefederal government is working on a comprehensive programme to projectvarious scenic destinations in the areas, they added.

To another question, they said the government would construct 200 kilometerlong tourism corridor in AJK on priority.

“Modern tourists resorts will be constructed at all tourists destinations,road access to Rama Lake and Ferry Meadow is also under consideration inGilgit-Baltistan,” they said and added modern transport facilities would bestarted to all the tourist destinations in the AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan.

To a question, they said unprecedented development funds had been releasedby the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government for uplift of AJK andGilgit-Baltistan.
