NEW DELHI – In India, Congress leaders in Rajya Sabha have accused NarendraModi government of involvement in a big scam in Rafale aircraft deal withFrance in 2015.

Participating in a debate on a motion in the Rajya Sabha, Congress deputyleader, Anand Sharma and other members of opposition parties said theground reality is totally different in connection with the big scam in theRafale aircraft deal with France.

They said the price at which the planes were negotiated was four timeshigher and benefitted private firms.

Sharma said Prime Minister Narendra Modi clinched the deal during his visitto France in 2015 without taking into confidence the Defence Minister andthe Cabinet Committee on Security and even state-run Hindustan AeronauticsLtd.
