Indian Police ban entry of Dr. Zakir Naik into Mangaluru city

NEW DELHI: The Islamic scholar Dr. Zakir Naik has banned by Mangaluru Police to enter in Mangaluru city for a period of one week after the protest from different groups.

Dr. Zakir Naik was scheduled to address a program on January 3, 2016 organized by South Kanara Salafi Movement, Indian Media quoted.

The Police Commissioner S Murugan has issued orders under section 144 CrPC banning Dr. Zakir Naik from entering the City and participating in any public meeting, ceremony and any kind of functions for a period of one week during 31 December 2015 to 6 January 2016.

Meanwhile, various groups in India like Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, Bajrang Dal, VHP and Hindu Mahasbha had demand a ban on the entry of Zakir Naik in Mangaluru because he delivered provocative speeches.

The Protesters also warned that the government will be responsible of any mishap if Dr. Zakir Naik came to Mangluru.
