Hillary Clinton declared most admirable personality of 2015 with Malala Yousafzai secures second slot

WASHINGTON: Democratic presidential favourite Hillary Clinton led the voting for most admired woman in the world earning 13 per cent support, according to the poll.

She beat out Malala Yousafzai, the 18-year-old Pakistani education activist who was shot by the Taliban, who came in second with five per cent. Oprah Winfrey and Michelle Obama were next in the poll both with four per cent.

Republican presidential contender Carly Fiorina, Queen Elizabeth II, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, Myanmar civil rights activist Aung San Suu Kyi, former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, rounded out the top 10 women.

The 2015 poll was conducted among 824 U.S. residents age 18 and older by phone from Dec. 2 to Dec. 6 and has a margin of error of four percentage points, according to Gallup.(Global News)
