ISLAMABAD - Jammu and Kashmir Voice of Victims (JKVoV), a human rights organisation, handed over a food and medicines consignment to Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRSC) for IOK residents.

Secretary General PRCS Khalid Bin Majeed received the consignment from Chairman JKVoV Altaf Ahmad Bhat in the presence of Incharge Sweet Home Zumarud Khan, Secretary National Press Club Anwar Raza and other notables at PRCS headquarters in Islamabad, said a statement issued on Friday.

Chairman JKVoV said IOK was running out of food shortage and medicines were not available in stores and hospitals.

“Children are crying for milk and patients have no access to life-saving drugs,” he said.

It’s been over a month since the stringent restrictions including curfew and communication blackout are in place to head off protests in IOK after New Delhi abrogated the special status and bifurcated its only Muslim-majority region.
