MIRPUR: AJK Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan said resolution of water and environmental issues of the state capital would be made conditional to the agreement on Neelum Jehlum Hydro power project with WAPDA and these issues would be resolved at any cost.
Talking to reporters on Wednesday along with Senior Minister Choudhry Tariq Farooq, Minister for Information Mushtaq Minhas and Minister for Food Syed Shaukat Shah on environmental issues here, the AJK prime minister pointed out that lives were under serious threat after diversion of Neelum river and getting rid of these threats was inevitable.
“I shall take this serious problem of the citizens of Muzaffarabad to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, I am pretty confident in institutions and prime minister of Pakistan that they will resolve these issues,” he expressed optimism.
Government of any political party in Pakistan had always shown open hearts and minds towards AJK, he said.
He said modern sewerage treatment plants would also be built from Patehkka to Muzaffarabad city, adding WAPDA would provide funds for the construction of water bodies and sewerage treatment plants.
On the occasion, prime minister sought help from people from different walks of life on this issue.
Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Dr.Syed Asif Hussain was also present on the occasion.
