In an announcement made on Sunday, Iranian state television reported that three individuals suspected of being Israeli spies had been apprehended in a joint operation involving Iran and the Taliban administration in Afghanistan.

These individuals, described as "three Mossad agents with Iranian nationality," were captured in a remote and mountainous region situated between Iran and Afghanistan.

The timing of this revelation coincides with the recent visit of a Taliban delegation to Tehran, where they engaged in discussions with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and other high-ranking officials.

Iranian media further disclosed that the apprehended individuals were allegedly planning "kamikaze drone attacks originating from the Afghan border, targeting locations within Iran." It was suggested that they were operating from Afghanistan and would be transferred to Iran for questioning.

The backdrop to this incident is the enduring tension between Iran and Israel, marked by Tehran's persistent accusations that Israel has orchestrated a series of sabotage attacks and assassinations aimed at undermining Iran's nuclear program.

It is essential to recognize that the Islamic Republic does not recognize the state of Israel, and both nations have been engaged in a prolonged covert struggle for years.
