RAWALPINDI – DG ISPR Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor has said that the Pak Army as an institution not involved in any political activity.
In an interview with a private TV channel on Wednesday, he said that the sit-in and the march is a political activity. “The Pak Army is an impartial institution and acts upon the orders of the elected government,” he said.
He said that whatever he says is from the institution.
The DG ISPR said that the Pak Army has no role in the election. “The Army participates in the election process when it is asked to do so by the elected government,” he said.
He said that the government should form such a system that there should be no need of Pak Army.
About the ongoing sit-in, Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is a senior politician.
