IHC seeks arguments on plea challenging NAB prosecutor's appointment

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday directed the respondents to submit written arguments on a plea challenging the appointment of Prosecutor General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Asghar Haider.

Justice Mohsin Akhter Kiyani of IHC conducted hearing on a petition challenging the appointment of NAB’s prosecutor general.
The petitioner’s counsel Shahid Kamal contended before the court that the prosecutor general was not eligible to appear personally.

The judge remarked that the petitioner had not raised objection on qualification of the Mr. Haider in his plea then why he was arguing against his presentation in courts.

The court asked the two sides to submit their written arguments regarding the matter and adjourned hearing of the case till November 16.
