In occupied Kashmir, Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Gilani has reiterated his appeal for complete boycott of the fifth and final phase of the so-called Indian Parliamentary elections in the territory tomorrow.
According to Kashmir Media Service, complete shutdown will also be observed in poll-bound areas of Pulwama and Shopian, scheduled to undergo for elections on Islamabad’s Lok Sabha seat. Poll drama will also be held in Ladakh constituency, tomorrow.
Indian forces have arrested several dozen youth in South Kashmir to ensure smooth conduct of the election drama.
Senior APHC leader and Chairman, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement in Srinagar condemned the arrest spree.
He said elections are mere a military exercise aimed at damaging the Kashmir dispute on one hand and hoodwinking the international community on the other.
On the other hand, Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front and APHC leader Mir Shahid Saleem in their separate statements expressed concern over the deteriorating health condition of the incarcerated JKLF Chief Muhammad Yasin Malik in Tihar jail.
They said the reports that Yasin Malik is being ill-treated in jail have set off alarm bells among the masses across Jammu and Kashmir.
