Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif link has welcomed the Supreme Court’s step of taking suo motu notice of the murder of journalist Arshad Sharif.
He shared these views on the social media site, Twitter. “I had already written a letter to the honorable chief justice of Pakistan for setting up a judicial commission to probe the murder,” he added. He also vowed that the government will extend full cooperation to the apex court.
He further said that at Islamabad Journalist Safety Forum today he highlighted steps taken by the government to ensure media freedom. In Asia, Pakistan has performed very well on the UN Plan of Action, he added. “I shared the resolve to fully implement the Protection of Journalists & Media Professionals Act,” he said.
