CDWP approves seven development projects worth Rs 6.9 billion

ISLAMABAD: (APP) The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Tuesday approved seven development projects worth Rs 6.9 billion besides endorsing three position papers.

The meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal also accorded concept clearance to two projects.

According to details, the CDWP approved a project worth Rs 3500 million for payment of compensation to the affected people of Mirani Dam

CDWP approves 14 projects worth Rs. 176 billion

It also approved a project for construction of official residence in F-5/2 Sector at a cost of Rs 112 million for the Speaker National Assembly.

The meeting accorded approval to a project for the expansion of Intelligence Bureau Academy at a cost of Rs 401 million.

For the treatment of cancer patients in the country, a project to purchase medical equipments at cost of 1210 million for five cancer centers two in Lahore and one each in Karachi, Bahawalpur and Islamabad.

A project worth Rs one billion was approved for up-gradation of National Institute of Science and Technical Education to Skills University.

CDWP approves various national level projects

The federal minister directed the concerned authorities to prepare a five-year roadmap for the Skills University and said, the establishment of the university would help promote vocational and technical education in the country.

The meeting also approved the a project for provision of infrastructure for Quetta Industrial Phase-IV which would cost Rs 194 million.

Senior officials of federal and provincial governments attended the meeting.
