Pakistani hockey team Dutch Coach observes fast in Ramadan with team players

Despite the long and hot days of *Ramadan link*, many sports athletes prefer observing fast even when they are playing. We have seen a number of Muslim athletes breaking their fast in the middle of a game.

Last year, a video of Turkish football players breaking their first in the middle of the match went viral. This year, the Dutch coach of the Pakistan hockey team link Siegfried Aikman will also be observing fast despite working in the daytime.

The Pakistan hockey team players were allowed to go home from the national camp to be with their families on the first Ramadan. Siegfried Aikman took to his Twitter account to share that he is observing his first-ever fast.

He said that as a coach of the Pakistan national hockey team, he feels obliged to at least try to join the team in their fasting. He termed it a special experience and added that he will continue fasting for the rest of the week.

Today, he once again informed his followers about observing the fast. “Feeling blessed and good at the moment,” he added.
