COAS General Asim Munir vows to establish writ of state against terrorism in former FATA

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir Tuesday visited TirahValley, Khyber District Tuesday, said a statement released by InterServices Public Relations (ISPR).

COAS spent the day with forward troops deployed along Pakistan -Afghanistan Border. He was briefed by the field commander about operationalpreparedness and border control measures in place as part of the WesternBorders Management Regime.

While interacting with officers and men, COAS praised them for their highmorale and operational readiness in the line of duty.

COAS said that State’s writ has been established due to innumerablesacrifices by tribal people and security forces.

Our fight against terrorism will continue with the support of the nationtill we achieve enduring peace and stability, COAS reiterated.

COAS said that the defence of the motherland will be ensured at all costsand there won’t be any space for peace spoilers.

No one will be allowed to disrupt the hard-earned gains of the war againstterror made thus far, COAS concluded.

Later, COAS visited Corps Headquarters Peshawar and laid a floral wreath topay homage to Shuhuda. COAS was also briefed about operational, trainingand other matters of the formation including efforts to create a secureenvironment for socio-economic development projects to uplift the newlymerged districts.

Earlier, on arrival, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Hassan AzharHayat, Commander Peshawar Corps.
