Pakistan raises Coalition Support Fund issue with US

ISLAMABAD – The Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal has saidthat Pakistan has started a discussion with US over a coalition supportfund.

This he said during his weekly briefing on Thursday, Dr Faisal confirmedthat no conditions were placed during US Special Representative forAfghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad’s recent visit to Pakistan.

FO spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said that US envoy Khalilzad met withForeign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and assured him of cooperation.

He continued, “US president Donald Trump’s letter to Prime Minister ImranKhan highlighted the fact that Afghanistan is an important issue for theregion.” On Monday, President Trump had written a letter to PM Imranseeking Pakistan’s assistance in the Afghan peace process.
