DG ISPR hits back over Indian Army Chief statement

RAWALPINDI – Maj Gen Asif Ghafoor has responded over the Indian Army Chiefstatement regarding Pakistan becoming a secular state.

DG ISPR said that Pakistan was created in the name of Islam. “India termsitself a secular state. Does it a secular state? India should first itselfa secular country and then talk about Pakistan,” he said.

The DG ISPR questioned whether minorities are safe in India. “The BabariMosque issue is sufficient to expose India.”

He said that the minorities and their worship places are safe in Pakistan.

The DG ISPR said that enemies benefitted from provocation in the name ofreligion. “We should strive to improve law and order, economy, healthcareand education. There is need to improve oneself first,” he observed.

He said that ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) haveincreased during last two years.
