In an announcement made on Sunday, Iranian state television reported thatthree individuals suspected of being Israeli spies had been apprehended ina joint operation involving Iran and the Taliban administration inAfghanistan.

These individuals, described as “three Mossad agents with Iraniannationality,” were captured in a remote and mountainous region situatedbetween Iran and Afghanistan.

The timing of this revelation coincides with the recent visit of a Talibandelegation to Tehran, where they engaged in discussions with IranianForeign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and other high-ranking officials.

Iranian media further disclosed that the apprehended individuals wereallegedly planning “kamikaze drone attacks originating from the Afghanborder, targeting locations within Iran.” It was suggested that they wereoperating from Afghanistan and would be transferred to Iran for questioning.

The backdrop to this incident is the enduring tension between Iran andIsrael, marked by Tehran’s persistent accusations that Israel hasorchestrated a series of sabotage attacks and assassinations aimed atundermining Iran’s nuclear program.

It is essential to recognize that the Islamic Republic does not recognizethe state of Israel, and both nations have been engaged in a prolongedcovert struggle for years.
