ISLAMABAD – Federal government has rejected the news circulating in thesocial media regarding November 9 holiday in Pakistan.
Interior Ministry on Tuesday clarified that there is no authenticity to thenews regarding November 9 being a holiday.
“No notification has been issued by the interior ministry regarding this,”the spokesperson said.
Addressing a session of the National Assembly, Minister of State forInterior Shehryar Afridi said, “Naya Pakistan’s vision is to work sevendays a week, 24 hours a day.”
November 9 is celebrated as Iqbal Day, a tribute to Allama Muhammad Iqbalwho was born in Sialkot on November 9, 1877.
