An incident in district Ghizer of Gilgit resulted in the tragic loss of apolice Station House Officer (SHO) when terrorists opened fire on a groupof police personnel. The officers had just completed a search operation inBatharat Nala, and as they were returning, terrorists concealed in a nearbyhouse in Raheem Abad unleashed gunfire.
This unfortunate event claimed the life of SHO Muhammad Alam, while a womanwho had been held hostage sustained injuries.
Previously, the GB Minister for Home, Shams Lone, emphasized the prevailingpeace in the Gilgit-Baltistan region and cautioned against any attempts todisrupt law and order.
During a press conference, he noted that the peaceful environment had beensomewhat disrupted due to the speeches of religious scholars from differentsects. He stressed the state’s commitment to resolving issues throughdialogue and collaborative efforts at all levels.
It’s worth mentioning that another incident occurred at the Pak-Afghanborder in Chitral, resulting in the martyrdom of four Pakistan Armysoldiers and the elimination of 12 terrorists.
