Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) has revised the standard operatingprocedures (SOPs) for domestic flights to minimize the risk of spreadingCOVID-19 and keep passengers and airline crew safe.
The aviation authority’s spokesperson outlined the new guidelines, whichasks people to wear a face mask before entering the terminal building. Noone but the passengers will be allowed to enter the airport lounges, hesaid.——————————
The spokesperson maintained that only passengers and airport staff will bepermitted to go beyond the parking area. The airport managers will beresponsible for ensuring social distancing at the boarding bridge anddeparture lounge.
All flights will be disinfected following the prescribed procedures beforedeparture, and the crew members will be mandated to wear PPE kits duringthe flight.——————————
He added that the crew staff will provide sanitizers to passengers on anhourly basis during the flight.
The new SOPs will be effective from the 6th of October (today) to the 31stof December.
It should be noted that the Civil Aviation Authority has scrapped therequirement of seat spacing for incoming international passengers.Moreover, inbound flights (from selected countries) will no longer have tofurnish a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test before boarding.
