Pakistan to change strategy in Test series against Australia: Sources

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan cricket management has decided to adopt new strategyin the series against Australia.

Mohammad Hafeez will open the batting with Imam Ul Haq in the first Testagainst Australia, starting from October 7.

Sarfraz Ahmed announced the twelve probable players on Saturday for theopening Test of the two-match series against Australia.

Pakistan are likely to go with four bowlers including two spinners, theleg-spinner Yasir Shah and off-spinner Bilal Asif, and two fast bowlers.

Mohammad Abbas will be one fast bowler for Pakistan, whereas, they willchoose between the two left-arm pacers Wahab Riaz and Mir Hamza as thesecond fast bowler.

Azhar Ali will bat one-down, while Babar Azam is to bat at the fourth spot.The left-handed batsman, Haris Sohail will bat at fifth and Asad Shafiqwill return to his favourite batting spot at sixth.

Sarfraz Ahmed, the captain will bat down the order at seventh, followed byall-rounder Bilal Asif, Yasir Shah and then the fast bowlers.

Pakistan skipper, who is under the pump at the moment for Pakistan’s flopshow in Asia Cup, is optimistic about the Test series against Australia.
