ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) Chief Tahir-ul-Qadri on Saturdayhas taken up the infamous model town case to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
He has requested the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) to constituteimpartial Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe Model Town carnage.
During the hearing, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar issuednotices to Punjab government, police and prosecution party. He alsodirected the Attorney General to submit details regarding the case in 15days.
Earlier, Lahore High Court (LHC) had turned down plea seeking summons ofex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif, former Chief Minister of Punjab (CM)Shehbaz Sharif and ten other ministers in a case pertaining to Model Towncarnage.
PAT, in its appeal against the ruling of the trial court, had requested LHCto call former ministers Khawaja Saad Rafique, Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Asifand others in the case.
