Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) counsel Sher Afzal Marwat hassaid that Imran Khan cannot sleep at night in jail, there is no roof wherehe is kept, and there are also mosquitoes.
Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court heard the request totransfer PTI Chairman to jail facilities and from Adiala Jail.
Advocate Sher Afzal Marwat, on behalf of Imran Khan, provided evidence,stating that there are no facilities in Adiala Jail, and it is being doneonly to cause discomfort.
They said that the authorities claim that Imran Khan has been kept inAdiala Jail due to security reasons, and everyone knows whether Adiala Jailis safer or Attock Jail.
Advocate Sher Afzal Marwat said that Imran Khan does not get sleep atnight, there is no roof where he is kept, water drips from above, and thereare also mosquitoes. In contrast, there are better security arrangementsand better class in Adiala Jail.
During the hearing, Assistant Advocate General Hanjab said that the A andB classes have been abolished in Attock Jail, and now there are common andbetter classes in jail, and better class has been provided to PTI Chairmanin jail.
To which Chief Justice Aamer Farooq said, “If this is the condition of thebetter class, then what will happen to the common class?”
Assistant Advocate General said that the issues of PTI Chairman in jailhave been resolved, the issue of the bathroom was that the walls wereraised and whitewashed. PTI Chairman has been provided with a cot, chair,21-inch TV, and five newspapers. Food is also provided according to hischoice. Five doctors have been appointed for him, and he is provided withtwo days of chicken and mutton cooked in desi ghee.
They had said that it is our right to be transferred to Adiala Jail and beprovided better class facilities. Sher Afzal Marwat explained that whenBushra Bibi went to Multan Jail, an attempt was made to file a case againsther. Allegations were made that Bushra Bibi tried to bribe jail officialswith Rs 20,000.
