Another clash reported between PPP and PMLN

PML-N senators have expressed strong opposition to the Pakistan People’sParty (PPP) requisition for a Senate session amidst the ongoing crisis, according to inside sources. These sources have disclosed that PML-Nsenators vehemently objected to PPP’s call for the Senate session in themidst of the current turmoil. Moreover, sources have indicated that PML-Nsenators warned PPP legislators against submitting such a request for theUpper House session, cautioning them about potential backlash from PakistanTehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers.

Despite initial reluctance, PML-N ultimately agreed to convene a Senatesession under certain conditions. The PPP lawmakers compelled thisdecision, with the agenda specifically limited to discussing the Jaranwalaincident. However, it is important to note that PPP senators aimed toinitiate a broader discussion encompassing pressing public concerns such asthe soaring inflation rates, escalating utility and fuel prices.

Unfortunately, PML-N leaders strongly opposed this request within theWhatsApp group of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties and theirallies.

Interestingly, despite the requisition being submitted, the Senate chairmanhas yet to call the session into action. This delay leaves the future ofthe Senate session uncertain and adds to the prevailing political tensionin Pakistan.
