Pakistan launches yet another facility for the Sikh Pilgrims from across the World

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan government has launched yet another facility for theSikh Pilgrims from across the World visiting Pakistan for holy rites.

In order to facilitate the Sikh pilgrims who will visit Kartarpur, Pakistanhas decided to add a religious tourism category to the online visa system.

During a meeting, the Ministry of Interior decided that people will be ableto apply under two categories of visa applications, local media reported.One would be for Sikh pilgrims of Indian origin living elsewhere in theworld. The second will be for Sikh pilgrims based in India.

All religious tourism visa requests for Kartarpur will be processed withinseven to 10 working days.

On Wednesday, a third round of talks between Pakistan and India on a draftagreement on the corridor was held. After the meeting, Pakistan announcedthat it has agreed to allow 5,000 Sikh pilgrims from India to visit on adaily basis the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Narowal through the corridor. TheKartarpur Corridor is is scheduled to be opened this year in November.
