LAHORE: Former Pakistan Cricket Captain, Muhammad Hafeez has written aletter to Chairman, Pakistan Cricket Board, Ehsan Mani on being overlookedfrom Pakistan cricket team named for the Asia Cup being played in September15, Dhaka.
In the letter, he has narrated the injustice meted out to him and hisrejection from the team.Hafeez in sheer disappointment wrote “Despite his good performance theselection committee as well as the team management have not selected himand he has failed to understand that sort of attitude with a senior playerof his statute.”
“If they (selectors and the team management) are not in favour of retainingme in the team then I should be told in straight and clear manner so that Ishould decide my future in the game and call it a day with dignity andpride“, he continued in the letter.
Hafeez expressed his agony in the letter by saying that first he wasdropped from the team for the tour of Zimbabwe now he has been sidelined inan important assignment, the Asia Cup.He has already expressed his reservations on his demotion in the ‘B’category of the central contract of players awarded by the PCB.
The ongoing treatment being meted out to the test opener has left him indismay and if the Pakistan Cricket Board does not guarantee in the team infuture cricket events, he is considering to quite the game.
